Exercise is one of the most simple and effective ways you can increase your health. It goes without saying if you want to look and feel better you should be consistently getting adequate physical activity (minimum 60 minutes a day under most guidelines). But this isn’t just exclusive to superficial health markers.
Physical activity is preventative for many major chronic diseases. This includes, but is not limited to:
Sarcopenia (muscle loss)
Metabolic Syndrome
Obesity
Insulin Resistance
Hypertension
Congestive Heart Failure
Depression & Anxiety
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Colon, Breast, and Endometrial Cancers
And so many others.
My biases want to push people into the gym and to start resistance training. But this can be as simple as going for a 10 minute walk everyday, and progressing from there. I encourage everyone to find an activity that they enjoy and can do on a regular basis.
I’m always available to message if you want help getting started!
